How to do the Boxing Shadow Cross
Starting Position
Stand in a natural fighting stance with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and hands held up near your chin to protect your face.
Execution
Rotate and Extend: Pivot on the ball of your rear foot while simultaneously rotating your hips and torso forward in the direction of the punch.
Punch: Extend your rear hand straight out from your chin toward an imaginary target at shoulder height.
Rotation: The rotation of your hips and torso provides the power for the strike, not just the arm extension.
Retract: Immediately snap the hand back to the starting position near your chin after making contact.
Key Tips
Keep your opposite hand up to guard your face throughout the entire movement.
Ensure your fist rotates so your palm faces downward at the point of full extension.
Focus on generating power through core rotation rather than relying purely on arm strength.
