How to do the Triangle Crunch

Setup

Sit on the floor with your torso slightly reclined, supporting your upper body by placing your hands behind or beside your hips on the mat. Extend your legs out in front of you, hovering them slightly off the ground to engage your core.

Movement

  1. From the starting position, draw one knee towards your chest while keeping the other leg fully extended.

  2. In a continuous, fluid motion, cycle your legs by pulling the extended leg in towards your chest while simultaneously extending the opposite leg forward.

  3. The legs should move in a pattern that mimics tracing the sides of a triangle, keeping the motion controlled and rhythmic.

  4. Maintain steady, shallow breathing throughout the movement and ensure your lower back remains stable and aligned.

Form Tips

  • Keep your core tight and engaged throughout the entire range of motion.

  • Avoid rounding your shoulders; maintain a proud, open chest position.

  • Do not rest your heels on the ground between repetitions; keep them hovering to maximize abdominal tension.
