How to do the Side-Lying Oblique Leg Lift
Setup
Lie on your side on a yoga mat, with your legs extended straight and stacked on top of each other.
Prop yourself up on your bottom forearm, keeping your elbow directly under your shoulder.
Extend your top arm toward the ceiling or rest it along your side.
Execution
Engage your obliques to lift both legs off the ground simultaneously, aiming to bring them toward your torso.
Simultaneously, keep your upper body stable; you may slightly crunch your torso toward your legs, but focus primarily on side abdominal engagement to initiate the lift.
Hold the peak contraction briefly at the top.
With control, lower your legs back to the mat without fully resting them if you want to maintain constant tension.
Perform the desired number of repetitions, then switch to the other side.
