How to do the Sec Position Plié with Arm Sweeping
Setup
Begin by standing in a wide stance, wider than shoulder-width, with your toes turned out to approximately 45 degrees.
Extend both arms overhead, fingers active and elongated.
Execution
Lower your hips by bending your knees, ensuring your knees track directly over your second toes. Your torso should remain upright and central throughout the movement.
While in the deep plié position, initiate the arm sweep: Inhale as you guide one arm down and across your body while the other maintains an upward reach.
Using your core, exhale as you side-bend gently, following the movement of your arm.
Return your arm to the original overhead position as you squeeze your glutes and press back up to the starting standing position.
Alternate sides for each subsequent plié representative of the fluid swinging motion.
