How to do the Parallel Plie Pulse

Setup

  • Stand upright next to a sturdy chair, placing one hand on the back of the chair for support.

  • Position your feet hip-width apart and parallel to each other.

Movement

  • Lower your hips into a partial squat, keeping your chest upright and core engaged.

  • Lift your heels slightly off the floor, balancing on the balls of your feet.

  • From this partial squat, initiate a series of small, rapid, pulse-like movements by extending and flexing your knees slightly.

  • Maintain constant tension in the quadriceps and glutes throughout the entire set.

  • Do not return to a full standing position until the desired number of pulses is completed.

Tips for Success

  • Ensure your weight remains evenly distributed through the balls of your feet.

  • Keep your torso tall, avoiding leaning excessively onto the chair.
