Modified Candlestick Variations and Alternatives

How to do the Modified Candlestick

  1. Lie flat on your back with your arms extended straight down by your sides on the floor for support.

  2. Lift your legs up toward the ceiling, keeping them relatively straight and your lower back pressed firmly into the floor.

  3. Engage your core to lift your hips slightly off the floor, reaching your feet upward into a vertical candlestick position.

  4. Slowly and with control, lower your hips and legs back down toward the starting position without letting your lower back arch.

  5. Keep your movements smooth and steady, exhaling as you lift your hips and inhaling as you lower down.
