How to do the L-Sit Hip Lift
Setup
Sit on the floor with your legs fully extended straight in front of you.
Place your palms flat on the floor or on elevated blocks (as shown) right beside your hips.
Engage your core and sit tall with your spine elongated.
Movement
Press firmly through your palms to lift your hips off the ground.
Focus on drawing your belly button inward toward your spine to engage the abdominals deeply.
Keep your legs straight and toes pointed or flexed toward you as you maintain tension.
Hold the elevated position while keeping the shoulders stable and away from your ears.
Slowly lower your hips back down to the starting position with control.
Tips
Avoid hunching the shoulders forward.
If lifting the whole body is too challenging initially, focus on just engaging the core and lifting the hips slightly while maintaining contact with the heels.
