How to do the Boxing Shadow Cross Punch
Setup
Standing in a staggered stance, place one foot slightly forward while the other remains behind for stability. Keep your knees slightly bent to maintain a flexible, athletic posture. Hold your hands up near your chin in a guard position, keeping your elbows tucked in.
Movement
Starting from your guard, rotate your back hip forward while pivoting on the ball of your back foot.
Extend your back arm straight toward the target, fully straightening your arm without snapping the elbow joint.
As you extend, exhale sharply and twist your torso to deliver force through the arm.
Immediately retract the arm along the same path, returning your hand to the guard position near your chin.
Key Tips
Pivot: The power of this movement comes from the rotation of the hip and the pivot of the back foot.
Guard: Always keep your non-striking hand up to protect your face.
Control: Ensure you maintain balance throughout the rotation.
